Rheumatoid Arthritis is the most common form of autoimmune arthritis nowadays. It was noticed that about 75% of RA patients are women. About, 1 – 4% of women may get rheumatoid arthritis in their lifetime. The disease most often begins between the ages of 30-50.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is defined as a chronic disease that causes joint pain, stiffness, swelling, and decreased movement of the joints. Small joints in the feet and hands are most commonly affected. Sometimes in the severe stage, Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) can affect your organs, such as eyes, skin, or lungs.

The stiffness of joints in active RA is often the worst in the morning that commonly lasts for one to two hours (or even the whole day). It generally improves with the movement of the joints. If the person having stiffness for a long time in the morning it is indicated that you may have RA, as this is not common in other conditions.

A fistula is defined as an abnormal connection between two body parts, such as an organ or blood vessel and another structure. They are usually the result of an injury or surgery. What is the Panchakarma Treatment of Fistula?

In Ayurveda, a special procedure is done to cure the fistula by Kshara Sutra. Chandigarh Ayurved Centre had performed this procedure by an experienced therapist under the guidance of an expert Doctors.

This procedure is done by specially seton thread medicated with organic alkalis such as Apamargakshara (Achyranthes aspera), Arkakshara (Calotropis gigantea) or Snuhikshara (Euphorbia lingularia). The alkali is repeatedly coated on the seton thread for about 15 – 21 times. We can also use natural antibiotics like Haridra powder, guggulu, etc to make Ksharasutra. The chemical action of the drugs coated and mechanical action of the threads are collectively working of cutting, curetting, draining, and cleaning the fistulous track, thus promoting healing of the track/ wound. This procedure acts both as the antiseptic and fibrotic agent to induce healing. The mechanism of healing starts from deeper tissues and moves towards the periphery.

Kshara sutra is done under local anesthesia, the sutra is inserted into the tract and the two ends of the thread are tied forming a loop. The threads which are coated by alkali are continuously released throughout the length of the track thereby cutting, curetting, draining cleansing and healing the track. The therapeutic action of the thread lasts for seven days. After seven days, the old thread is then replaced with a new thread following the same procedure.

Gently clean yourself after each bowel movement.

Ringworm is a common skin infection mainly caused by a fungus. The condition is called “ringworm” because it can cause a circular rash (shaped like a ring) that is usually red and itchy. The fungi that cause ringworm can live on the skin, surfaces, and on household items such as clothing, towels, and bedding.

The medical terms of ringworm are “tinea” or “dermatophytosis.” It can affect anyone at any time. The lifetime risk of developing any superficial fungal infection is significant. If the person lives in a warm, humid climate that has direct contact with active fungal infections and the person who has a weak immune system, the risk of developing ringworm is higher.

Thalassemia is defined as an inherited blood disorder in which the body makes an abnormal form of hemoglobin. Schizophrenia is defined as a severe mental disorder that affects the way a person thinks, acts, expresses emotions, perceives reality, and relates to others. Though schizophrenia isn’t as common as other major mental illnesses, it can be the most chronic and disabling that affects approximately 1 percent of all the adults globally.

Schizophrenia affects approximately 0.3–0.7% of people at some point in their lives. It is diagnosed 1.4 times more frequently in males than in females. The average peak ages of onset are 20–28 years for males and 26–32 years for females.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome is condition in which a woman has an imbalance in female sex hormones. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) which is common among women at reproductive age group. Women with PCOS may have infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods or excess male hormones (androgen) levels. They may present with disturbance in frequency and duration of menstrual cycle associated with increased levels of androgens. Ovaries may be filled with follicles along with non release of ova. PCOS can cause symptoms including excess facial and body hair (hirsutism), acne vulgaris, and mood changes. It can also make it difficult to become pregnant, and may significantly harm a person overall health if left untreated. About 80 percent have irregular menstruation, 70 percent have high level of Testosterone leading to hirsutism and sometimes Alopecia and acne. PCOS cysts are different from normal ovarian cysts. According to Ayurveda PCOS cases clinically are seen of two types, one is Kapha Pradhana and other Pitta Vataja pradhan vyadhi.
